چکیده

Demosaicking and zooming are important for the quality of digital images in resource-constrained single chip devices such as wireless camera phones and vision-based pocket devices. The color artifacts introduced in the demosaicking process can be magnified in the subsequent zooming process and vice versa. This paper presents a joint demosaicking–zooming scheme by exploiting the fact that red/green and blue/green color difference signals are much smoother than the original red, green and blue signals. The color difference signals are computed using the high spectral–spatial correlations in the color filter array (CFA) image. The computed color difference signals are used to recover the green channel, which is then enlarged using an edge guided zooming scheme. The enlarged red and blue channels are obtained by adding the correspondingly enlarged red/green and blue/green color difference images to the enlarged green channel. Experimental results show that the proposed joint demosaicking–zooming scheme performs well in both visual perception and PSNR measurement, suppressing many color artifacts arising from demosaicking as well as zippers and rings arising from zooming.

Color Filter Array Image Analysis for Joint Denoising and Demosaicking

A single-chip image sensor used in almost all consumer and in some professional-grade digital cameras today is affixed with an alternating pattern of spectrally shifted (in the electromagnetic wavelength sense) color filters to each pixel location. The arrangement of color filters, which are typically the canonical color triples (i.e. red, green, blue), is called color filter array (or CFA) [1,...

W Adaptive Denoising of CFA Images for Image

In single sensor digital color cameras at each pixel it captures only one of the three primary colors so the full color image is obtained by interpolating all other missing color samples at that pixel this process is the color demosaicking process. When we capture the images using digital cameras there is some sensor noise is introduced in image. This type of noise is introduced in all type of ...

Demosaicking: Color Filter Array Interpolation in Single-Chip Digital Cameras

Digital cameras have become popular and many people are choosing to take their pictures with digital cameras instead of film cameras. When a digital image is recorded, the camera needs to perform a significant amount of processing to provide the user a viewable image. This processing includes white balance adjustment, gamma correction, compression and more (reference “Color Image Processing Pip...

ICA based Image denoising for Single-Sensor Digital Cameras

MOST existing digital color cameras use a single sensor with a color filter array (CFA) to capture visual scenes in color. Since each sensor cell can record only one color value, the other two missing color components at each position need to be interpolated. The color interpolation process is usually called color demosaicking (CDM). The quality of demosaicked images is degraded due to the sens...

Joint image denoising and demosaicking by low rank approximation and color difference model

Digital cameras generally use a single image sensor which surface is covered by a color filter array. The Color Filter Array (CFA) limits each sensor pixel by sampling one of the three primary color values (red, green or blue), whereas the other two missing color values would be acquired by the post-processing procedure called demosaicking. From the noisy CFA data, the full color images are rec...
